Sexing ducklings....

does anyone know an easy way to sec ducklings? Besides their voice?

And is it for all ducklings?

It rather depends on the breed. As with chickens, there are sex-linked traits in some breeds. I believe Welsh harlequins are sexable by bill color (hatchery birds only, I've heard that the trait seems to have been bred out of breeder/show stock?), and chocolate is sex-linked. (golden 300 layer)

Beyond that, if you want to know, then you're going to have to learn to vent-sex.

I’ve read that vent sexing could cause injury..
But anyways.. Rouen and Pekin are the breeds I’m looking at.. maybe silver appleyard..and welsh.

It can, if you're in a hurry or not experienced. Which is why you would have to learn to do it. I wasn't recommending it. But it is the only reliable answer to your question unless you get a sex-linked breed.

Ideal claims to sell sexed ducklings. We ordered some and got ducks instead of the drakes for which we paid. Perhaps there was a mix-up. You could try ordering sexed ducklings and see if you get what you paid for.
