Sexing Wheaten Ameraucana Chicks

I don't. I've learned, after driving myself crazy last hatch, that I just have to be patient. But I was surprised to see you can tell the difference by color and had to ask. Lol
Wheaten is a sexually dimorphic color, so yes, you can tell sex once the breast feathers start to come in.

Hi, I’m trying to sex my almost 2.5 week old wheaten/blue wheaten/splash Ameraucana chicks. One is a definite cockerel from the dark feathering growing on his chest already, another I’m hoping is a pullet and the third has white chest feathers growing in on its chest. Could my third be a splash rooster or is there another explanation for the white? Also if anyone can give me insight on whether they are wheaten or blue wheaten

picture 1 is of all 3
Picture 2 & 3 are my definite cockerel
Picture 4, 5 & 6 are of my one with white feathering growing in on chest
Hello!! May you please update their genders! I have a splash wheaten Americana covered by a blue rooster around the same age and am hoping to compare.

I don't see any brown... is that a wheaten?

But for a wheaten, whether it is blue wheaten or splash wheaten, the brown on the breast will be the same as regular wheaten (remember that BBS is only working on the black coloring).

So, if it is a wheaten, just look at the breast feathers. As soon as they start coming in, you will know what you have.

The first 2 photo is my blue wheaten pullet -
3rd - comparing to her brother.
Last photo - her brother -
At a very early age i could see how much dark the male was compared to the female - and I thought they were going to be just wheaten but the blue started to come through around week 4 - I’m thinking you have males? But The one really light one could possibly be a pullet - But keep us updated ☺️
