Horrid weather today; 3C and constant drizzle.
They came out for a few minutes to eat some grass and kept close to, or in the extension.
Henry went to roost at about 5pm (sunset was a few minutes past 6pm today) and the hens followed him ten minutes later.
Lucky you 🥶, But not long and we will have spring! Here it was in the air today.

From next week the days last longer than the nights.

Before the next winter, you really should build yourself a luxury shelter Shadrach with a stove/burner to keep you warm.

Tax from earlier this week:

No chance of building myself anything. I've blown all my money on housing the chickens.

I've worked outside since I was 40ish. I lived outside when I was a kid according to my father.:D
If I had a garden I would probably be out there now. I've got good merino wool base layer, a submariners jumper, waterproof work jackets for winter and not so winter finally that do what they say on the label. I often sit in the rain at the allotments. The problem is my hands. What I may do for next year is get heated gloves.

are you allowed to light a fire for example in a metal drum?

You could try hand warmers ? (Although I suppose they are not environmental friendly.).
I was gifted a small device that does lightning, hand warmer and USB charger. I only used it once trekking, so I don't know what it's worth.

I am very confused by my chickens roosting time.
When I had only the ex-batts they were pretty consistent, except if the weather was awful, and usually roosted 45 mn to an hour before night. They always had the same behaviour/routine before roosting.
Now I have two roosters, the first team to go to roost, Gaston's team (the youngest and junior chickens), has completely erratic time of roosting and behaviour. The last two weeks they went inside between 4 and 4.30, which is a good two hours and a half before night, even when the weather was nice. It's almost as if they want to spend time on their own in the coop before the other team comes in. Before that, they were roosting later, around 5. And in the shortest days of winter, I had to bring them back inside almost everyday as they didn't want to go in.
I'm never sure what to expect, I don't understand why they behave so differently.

Théo seems to believe dustbathing is an opportunity for mating.
