I guess you couldn't convince the Mrs that a more rural area in Jersey would be close enough to her parentsI would much prefer to be in a very rural area.

probably only if i outlive my wife, which is something i do not care to think about, much less plan for.How long until you can move to rural area again????
that sort of thing is decidedly britishI’m so sorry. That would make me miserable too. I wonder if you can find a community garden or Allotment like Shad goes to? Maybe even keep chickens there?
morels - lucky you!Sorry about the weather. The promise of bad weather makes me grumpy and depressed.
However, like @Molpet we have all the good weather this week, too. 70F/21C, low humidity, slight breeze. Only problem is making myself stay inside; I'm getting behind on work. Just want to explore and forage and spend time with the feathered homies.

Tax for bragging about weather: video of Stilton persuading the hens to come with him to the poplar grove. Before the start of the video, he and a couple hens were on their way when Stilton turned and charged back to the coop to corral the others. He's very persuasive. After the initial wing dropping and hackle flaring, I think they ultimately agree to follow him because he an expert grub digger and tidbitter. He's more carrots than sticks.
At the end, you see him making sure master straggler Frida gets the memo.
There are a few community gardens in the urban center near me (in the US). There are also many farms around who would most likely loan you a small plot of land to keep a few chickens on. Maybe that would be a solution? If you had an auto-door, a secure large run, and could get there almost every day to make sure there was adequate food & water…there are tons of horse boarding places, I bet you could work a deal out to “board” chickens, if you could pay a small monthly boarding fee…im trying to be creative so your flock can have access to outside. Are there any semi-rural areas within 30 minutes?that sort of thing is decidedly british
He's good at his job. Any chance of him teaching Henry a few moves?Sorry about the weather. The promise of bad weather makes me grumpy and depressed.
