Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

We have been very lucky here in that there isn't an established rat population on the property. We usually only deal with them when food sources start dropping off in the fall and even then, there are only a handful that crop up. We have quite extensive gopher and ground squirrel populations here and the rats go through their tunnels and burrow up to the surface.

Okay that I can comment on .. The local tree farm bought a piece of of property behind ours that was wild blackberry overgrown.
I had a huge rat infestation killed 33 rats that year. Bought a Tom Cat rat trap used peanut butter .. We bought Co2 pistols as not all died in the traps.
Did not have evidence of rats then Neighbor started piling garbage. Not putting it for garbage truck or dump.
Rats again.. Caught 2 one male one female so far ..
I hate rat's....

I have rats - I saw one on the outside camera the other night trying to get into the Chicken Palace but so far my defenses have held up.
I only trap if they find a way to get inside the Chicken Palace - outside seems pointless as I assume they are everywhere.
