I think a lot of people just haven't thought much about chickens. Initially some people are enthralled by their antics but after some serious obsevation one realises one is not seeing antics, mostly it's reasoned behaviour. That takes a while. Maybe I'm a bit slow but it took me five years of chicken watching before I had confidence in they know what they're doing; from there to date it's been trying to work out why and how they do what they do. It's the path to complete madness.![]()
Their little personalities rope you in...They are addictive.
Could be ignorance. So many people view animals as possessions which is really sad for both the animal and those people. I don't think the callousness is intentional, they are just wired differently, and while we all feel people like that should not have the responsibility of care for an animal, they feel it is their right to possess something they want. :-(I guess those people didn't care enough to observe it.
Chickens and gardening is the best therapy! He's having a few problems currently and spends too much time in his flat by his own addmission.
What madness?? This is all perfectly normal...being enslaved by chickens, failing to recognize the trappings of chicken math, Chickens leading to goose rehab, turkeys and quite likely ducks, next year.. No madness here..lolIt's the path to complete madness.

well done you! It's been shown time and again that gardening is good for body and soul, and growing things you can eat is good for the guts too!He did a lot of weeding and the more he did the happier he looked.
Over the years I've realised how common that has become. People don't know anything about chickens, or farm animals in generalHe said, "I've never been this close to a chicken before."
