Lab grown meat is not really fake meat. It is real meat, artificially grown.
Fake meat is not meat but other things made to resemble meat.
Personally I don’t really need either. I enjoy beans and veggies for what they are, without them needing to pretend to be meat.
I can imagine trying lab grown meat if it ever got to a point where it really meant no cruelty and was environmentally better, but I am not sure that will be in my lifetime.
Meanwhile I am prepared to pay more for ethically sourced meat and just eat less of it.

Ultimately, the choices available to us differ from place to place. If each person makes the most ethical choice, collectively we are making progress.

has Sylph inherited Henry's SLM problem?

Yup.

Two and a half hours today. A dry afternoon with some sunshine but shockingly cold at 8C given it's been double that recently. Cold and dry or wet and warm seem to the current weather options.
We have a rat problem. She's been chewing through one of the ventialation holes at the top of the coop. I know it's her, I see her month in, month out. I know where she lives but it's not on the field. If I could kill her much of the field rat problem around the coop and run would be over for a while at least.
I'm short on options. A gun would do it but the lease forbids it.

Mow is still moulting and Fret is losing some feathers now. Henry moults as Henry does. I haven't seen any sort of pattern to it.

The boys! The rescue male is going this week. He just isn't getting with the program. The while male has learnt the he'll get some of the treat if he doesn't snatch. The other one..., he steals from everyone. The white male doesn't harrass the hens, the other one...

I'm tempted to give the white male some time. He's much more like an adult Henry in personality.

The roosting picture tells the story. He's just not fitting in.

Is asking the people who own where she lives, whether you might be allowed to tackle her at source, an option?
