I think he means quarantine as in separate a sick chicken from the flock as is widely recommended on BYC.
That is different from quarantining a newcomer to the flock who might bring in disease.

You may have skimmed my post like I said, because chickens hide sickness by the time we notice a sick bird, if it has something contagious then it may have already spread. And if the others are fine, then it's not contagious. Either way, leave sick birds with their friends.

I had Mr. Bumble inside so I could more easily keep an eye on him. Plus it was convenient to just be able to scoop him up right there to feed him.

A few pics of Mr. Bumble right before he led the flock into the coop for bed. His dirty beak incidates he was having fun digging around in the soil. I checked his crop, and it was full. I did not feed him at all today.

I think he's good to go. He was tidbitting for the girls earlier.
