C has aquired 4 more Ex Battery hens.
Someone C knows got 4 or maybe 6 and found the whole Ex Battery hen thing way too much trouble and apparently upsetting and wanted to get rid of them. You just can't tell people.
Anyway, C has taken them in. I probably would as well so I can't be too critical.
I'll know more later.

I hope they arrive pest- and disease- free. Is the donor giving the coop too, or would that be too much to hope? It may only be good for burning, but we can live in hope... lots of hope here

Nope, no coop. We did get some pellets and some corn. I doubt if C even asked about the coop.

an old time pestle and mortar should do it, if you have one

Believe me I've tried that that's a no go for me. It works well being damp and mixed into foods

They will fit in and as already said disease and pest free

I can understand why but as you know it's risky. Finding a way to keep them apart for a while would be safer for all
