Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

I remember how you very wisely gave me the downside of keeping battery hens. I honestly really appreciated that but there's usually a BUT isn't there? :D

I'm struggling right now with pain and not being as agile as the rest of some of us chicken carers BUT if I can continue I feel after all the wonderful thoughts and ideas I have been having I would still want these beautiful little battery girls if I can possibly manage it.

Tina isn't the most trusting of friendliest chickens I have had but seeing her darting around in all kinds of weather enjoying her ventures in my crummy garden, gives me so much pleasure.

I dearly loved Agatha even though I feel that I failed her miserably by not knowing how too keep her alive but as you said Shadrach many die because of being overly used.
Since losing her I have learned a little more and Tina really has bennifited thanks too my friends here like @RoyalChick @BY Bob and my sweet @Ponypoor and last but not least the knowledge you've planted in my thick head 😉

Flexi wasn't a battery and she was such a huge character, her and Agatha were best friends I miss them both but im happy I had the honour of keeping them 💗
Tried one more time to delete this horrible filter but it still isn't showing up and didn't even have the edit this time.

Back soon

I'm repeating myself here I apologise.
When I used the edit to delete this filter intruding on my pictures the filter didn't show up for me to delete. So for some reason I cannot delete it at all itcjust remains

The only way I can get rid of it is completely delete my post.
I would love to help Marie but to be honest I don't understand what the problem is and I don't think I upload pictures the same way as mobile phone users.

I just can't get on the anti amazon band wagon. It would be wonderful in many ways to return to local shopping but I can't fault their service.
Yes, it provides what we cannot purchase anywhere else. I wonder why we can't buy locally anymore I had to buy tapioca online because it's not sold in our supermarket anymore.

The fault I can find with them is being asked for full date of birth which I find deeply intrusive and unnecessary. Ebay doesn't do this

Funny story. Decided to wash my coop coat & hat, so I had on a bright magenta old fleece & hood on today instead. Went into the coop to put up some light breathable garden cover over the back window to keep snow/sleet out. The whole time I was in there, the entire flock was squawking so loud. I left to get more tacks, and came back with a small handful of scratch, thinking it would quiet them a bit while I finished. When I squatted down to talk to them, it was like they realized it was me. 😂 When the scratch was gone a minute later, they stayed quiet. I think they thought some strange woman was hanging out in their house. Hopefully they’ll recognize the fleece tomorrow morning. It has been dark today with rain/sleet, so I’ll give them a pass for not seeing my face clearly!

Surely you don't have to give your actual date of birth. Just make one up.
