To create a wannabee pop door you probably need to put the screen higher up. Or.. Roll up or cut of 4-6” of one piece for an opening. Try using a few elastic bands if you dont want to cut the screen.

Can't say I have. What I see/hear a lot of is the reverse, so to speak: cockerels cooing to try to persuade hens to lay in borders, flower pots, bin bags and assorted other more or less unsuitable places Fortunately most of the females have more sense than to follow these suggestions

@Shadrach or other free rangers, did you ever notice hens using the ‘egg-song’ or escort-song for other purposes than to get escorted to the rest of the flock/tribe? Like calling a rooster or the landlord because they need his help to lay an egg in a safe spot.

I asked the same question in my natural breeding and hatching thread. But because your answer might be interesting for a larger group than my followers I ask it here too.

You are right about that .
Put a rooster in a box, regardless of breed, and a "how to tame your rooster" guide and I will be be so happy I might toss my phone across the room.
