Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

Do you mean better relating to content or to quality of writing, or both ?
I think I can't answer that without putting both feet right in it :p
Amadeo is stunning as always. Wish I could hear his crow 😁.
No, really, you don't  Actually, his crow is getting better. The toot-toot-toot-toot-toot-toot ad nauseam comes when I'm carrying food bowls, and he plays the dinner bell :gig

Looking at the new articles page, I can't help but notice that the formulaic AI generated ones are apparently much better than most of the real members' ones. And this on a little ol' backyard chicken forum. I wonder what we'll all be doing in 5 years' time. :hmm
Probably following John Conner.

The keeping a cockerel or rooster issue when it comes to BYC is a bit of a mess.
There are countless posts on "rooster issues" and not one single post that I've read seemed to be a problem with the rooster. It's almost always the keeper and the keeping circumstances. What's even stranger is people take the advice of those who obviously can't keep roosters because they keep killing them. If I'm looking for advice I look for advice where people have managed to achieve the result I'm after; not the people who've failed.

I've explained to a number of people on such threads how to resolve the issues, some step by step via PM and almost always they do a bit of what I advise. It's not a do a bit type of solution usually. You have to take all the advise, or none of it.

For some reason the whole business turns into a drama fest and one begins to realise that there is no way in the world these people are ever going to successfully keep males in their groups.
As one who doesn't mince words either, I really appreciate the
take it or leave it directness

Think you could send us some of that rain?
What kind of camera do you use? Why not your phone?
Those chickens look relaxed in there.
Olympus Tough.
My phone was very cheap and doesn't take a very good picture.
