Good point.
But I think its not just need. Chickens love the taste too of living food that thrives in the soil.
My chickens always like to join me when Im digging in the soil. In all seasons, not just in the moulting season.

Five hours today. Damp and chilly but no rain after mid day.
100% agreement for the group membership document. 60% roughly signed and paid so far including C.
Two more work days set for November and 2 more people allowing chickens on their plot. I'm getting good at this diplomacy stuff.
Carbon is just plain miserable and I don't realy know what I can do to help her. She's eating well. She goes out foraging but when she stops moving she looks terrible.
The cockerel attempted his first crow this evening. He looked shocked.
