It seems I was right, I am a major part of the chicks not going onto the coop to roost problem.
The chicks started here, once the adults had gone to roost. They came down on their own and went into the run.

A couple got straight onto the coop extension roost bar, while the other two hovered close by.
The white male was first in. I didn't hear any fuss and he got on the same perch as Mow as far away as possible, that is, welded onto the coop wall.

That all went quietly. A few minutes later the grey probably male chick went in. That went quietly to. The grey female went in, came out, went in, came out... Close to 10pm she went in and stayed in; still quiet.
For a few moments it looked like the last chick who is the chick we saved was going to go in then it just settled on the extension bar and the door closed (I forgot to reset the timer).

I put my finger behind it's legs and it stepped back and I lifted the door and put him in. No fuss.
Tonight must rank as the quietest going to roost for many weeks.
I just managed to catch the 10.30 pm bus and got home at 11.35.
