Rooster appreciation post! Galloping Gertie decided to go visit the turkeys... All the boys, (rooster and turkey) started sounding the alarm, one of the turkey hens was on a mission to catch and kill Gertie. We went running out, and Spud forced his way under the turkey fence, got Gertie into the enclosed turkey roost and chased off the turkeys and kept her safe until we got there. He is uninjured, Gertie is uninjured and Spud continues to prove that he is the bestest boy!

(I however am stupid. I went in to the roost to retrieve Gertie, and was exiting, checking her over and cuddling her and lecturing her about trusting the devious turkey girls, I went to step over the highest roost, caught my toe and face-planted into the corner of a 4x4. I have a giant knot from my left eye to the top of my head, but Gertie did not get squished. The Egg Thief secured the wire between them, again... the new fence line is going to go much deeper.)

LOL I am laughing now after 2 hours under ice... I am getting to that age where I have to pay more attention and slow down a little. Lot's of love for Sweet Super Spud!
