Low carb diets are the saddest. The Egg Thief eats more eggs than I do. Since giving up bread, there is nothing to dip in the yolks so not point. I do use them for baking TET's puddings.

Happens to us all, plants have a warped sense of humourStrawberries just randomly growing right by our front steps. Meanwhile, the stuff I am trying to grow on purpose is having minimal success.

If the chickens can escape, the dog can get in the chicken yard for sure. Dogs are great tunnel diggers. If you don’t trust your dog with the chickens you’ve got work to do.My girls are definitely trying bro tell me something about the barren state of their yard. Today they staged a jailbreak, tunneling under the wire fence that separates their yard from the main part of the backyard, that is there to keep them separated from the bratty dog. They were having such a good time, I decided to just keep the dog inside and let them have at it. Time to do some serious training with the dog.
I'd never ever trust a dog with chickens, unless the chickens severely out weigh the dog.If the chickens can escape, the dog can get in the chicken yard for sure. Dogs are great tunnel diggers. If you don’t trust your dog with the chickens you’ve got work to do.
It’s spring! Life persists!Another random strawberry plant, this one in my pathetic excuse for a "backyard".

I understand your concern, but this dog is not a digger. He is such a priss that he can't even walk if weeds get caught in his leg fur. He also does understand that the fence means stop here. He also is never left alone in the yard, because he's a barker. He will sit underneath a tree and bark at a squirrel until hell freezes over. I like my neighbors, and there are a lot of squirrels! My biggest concern is that he will chase anything that moves, including birds in the yard. He wouldn't know what to do if he caught one, but the chasing is not good. So that is what we will work on, on a leash, of course. I've actually done a lot of dog training, I just got lazy with this one, cause he's small and I'm getting old. Keeping the chickens safe is high priority. If the chickens can escape, the dog can get in the chicken yard for sure. Dogs are great tunnel diggers. Yes, of course. The leash is my best friend. He does love to chase, thus, the fence. He's never alone in the yard, with or without chickens, because he's a barker. Even my previous dogs , who were well trained, were never left alone with the chickens. Safety first.I'd never ever trust a dog with chickens, unless the chickens severely out weigh the dog.
Dogs are the #1 predator for chickens across the board. I've heard a million stories where a previously 'safe' dog just decided one day that chickens would be fun to chase.. and now you have a bunch of dead chickens.
Nope for me. Always, always, always on a lead around my chickens.
It isn't really a diet as opposed to cutting down on things that my body doesn't handle well. I do, occasionally, miss a good crusty bread but sometimes we just love things that are bad for us..lolLow carb diets are the saddest.![]()
So true! When the first group were just new baby peeps, my dogs would guard over them, the loved them, but.. they are also natural hunters (black lab mix and a plott hound mix), I have no doubt that the initial to chase when chickens run and flap about, would kick in, it would just be too irresistible. Every once in awhile they chase the cats, not to hurt them, but just out of play.I'd never ever trust a dog with chickens, unless the chickens severely out weigh the dog.
