How to get rid of invasive garlic chives you ask??...
Have the chickens decided to dust bath 😂

I read the yellow were brought over for ground cover.

Bits and bobs are always fun to clean up.
When in lived in the country, I had a cat who was a great hunter of mice, voles, and moles, which she would deposit on the front door mat.

They came in two categories: "critters" (recognizable) and "parts."

Hmmm. Mine have had no impact on the garlic chives. I am over run with them though they are both pretty (when they flower) and tasty (especially good in omelets). Pollinators - especially honey bees - love them too.

Mow is spending more time than usual sitting down. She's finding the heat difficult. She had her wings open during the day at 25C and above and when she goes to roost she has her wings open, at least for fifteen minutes.

Mow.

Do you think the seesawing temperatures are contributing to Mow finding the recent warm spell difficult?
Here it went from 15C to 26c within a few days and is sliding back down to 3-4C tonight and 12C tomorrow. I know I find it difficult to adapt & I’m not a walking duvet!

I suppose you could limit the number of eggs any one broody gets to hatch to slow the pace of growth
I could and intend to, but some excuse or other gets in the way every time, so I end up setting 6 typically :rolleyes: Of the 3rd clutch, I still don't know how many have hatched, but the earlier two were 6 and 5; Fez then lost 2 during the first week; Polka still has the full complement.
your chickens are such lookers I am hoping there are people who would want them
that's kind of you to say. I think so too for many of them, but I'm biased :D and there are some rather nondescript ones too, like Ystrad. It's not at all obvious that she's 50% SFH.

Well I think she is pretty with her little flecks.

I do think so especially after today when Mow was on the move for entire 2 and a half hours they were out.
