share bad weeds

There are a lot of invasive species that are hard to eradicate. Japanese knotweed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_knotweed is the worst around here--not only takes out local species and creates biological desserts but is almost immune to weedkiller. It spreads by roots, seeds and broken bits that root in and grow. Originally if was an ornamental used as screens and for it's fall bloom but escaped. My personal annual "favorite" is Hairy galinsorga, aka common quickweed or shaggy soldier http://www.google.com/search?q=quic...Ti0QHE7bEd&sqi=2&ved=0CEEQsAQYourLinkGoesHere . Got it in the garden with some with cow manure back 50 years ago and still haven't been able to get rid of it--grows faster than you can pull it.

I have a book entitled Weeds of the Northeast and, once I went through it realized that I have half of them in my garden and the rest in my lawn.

Is it Kudzu? That stuff is noxious! You gotta destroy the crown if it is kudzu, either burn it directly or dig it up. Just killing the leaves with a weed killer doesn't destroy it. Goats eat kudzu and can be used for control, but then again, they eat everything else in the area too, so it isn't specific.

I think it's that quickweed! it grows like 1-1 1/2 foot tall and so thick you couldn't stick a needle down without hitting at least 5 plants and everylittle bit starts a new plant and it's impossible to get rid of, even tried weed killer. it's ugly. i tried landscaping cloth and it lifted it up off the ground. nothing stops it.
