That is nowhere near easy šŸ˜‚
Check your local Fb poultry groups. Those are exploding with poultry in my area. There's a ton of backyard breeders selling a bunch of breeds, Polish is fairly common. I'm certain I'd be able to find a roo if I was looking for one. Not sure about Poppy, but I'm sure its the same.

Why? I know nothing about genetics, and you know some, so you know more than me.
But, shouldn't you eventually be able to breed it in after breeding offspring back to parents? Might take a while, multiple generations, but eventually, the genes should line up right? :idunno:p
I think so, yeah :p

OR you get really lucky and get it first try
Exactly!

We got EE crosses, nicknamed Salish Seascape from a breeding two years ago? We, being the friend I am starting a breeding business with. Then started breeding them to our OE's hens. The Salish Seascape hens, SS rooster, and OE hens. Started getting all kinds of fun stuff first try! Not first hatch ever, but its not like we were breeding back for these traits.
We're getting crested birds, and even a little rumpless, or tailless, I'm not sure, roo. He's so stinking cute! We're keeping him to breed back. :D
We know there are CCLB in the mix for Salish Seascape, but she never mentioned anything about Araucana. :idunno

Cause you will probably need to brewed generations and generations before you get an actual Polsih crest, if that happens.

That is just what I think :idunno

Exactly. It will take a lot of breeding. It will also take an incubator, a good, high quality, trustworthy incubator.
It could take years.
Yeah. It's going to be a long process getting the nice, floofy, ball-of-feathers body type of a Cochin also with the big poofy Polish crest. The body types are way different. I would think F1s might be a somewhat longer, skinnier Cochin with a small crest. You'd have to work from there.

Ok.

I'm an idiot and I know absolutely nothing about genetics so why I am trying to sound like an expert I do not know but maybe I should just shut up 'cause I'm probably way off šŸ˜…

Hey, I know nothing either! I have a mixed flock of ducks, Mallards, Buff, White Crested, and Swedish Blue cross drake. My Mallard hen goes broody every year, so I'm always like, "Well, I hope we get some that look like Mallards! And some crests!" I can't even guess what they will look like.
