**SHARE YOUR MOST UNIQUE CHICKEN NAME**

I call my favorite hen JC for "just Chicken" the rest dont have names. I named my first flock which was killed by predators so I never did it again.

Does an "almost" name count? Once we were sure that little Butch was a roo, my kids wanted to change his name to:

Barred Rock Obama

I had to put my foot down on that one. He was already my Butchie.

Would you guys believe "King Comb Motorhome"?

My siblings and I got our first chicken when I was in fifth grade. It was a huge White Leghorn x Barred Rock rooster; I got him as a joke gift from my uncle for my birthday (my parents didn't mind and were in on the joke). Of course, I promptly fell in love with that bird.

King Comb's main problem was that his previous owners hadn't brought him in at night in the winter, so his comb had been frostbitten down to a sort of red knot on his head. My little brother (who was in preschool) felt sorry for the rooster and decided to start calling him "King Comb" so that the rooster wouldn't feel bad about his messed-up comb. Being a preschooler, and kind of obsessed with toy cars and rhyming words, he ended up tacking on "Motorhome" to the end of the rooster's name. It sounded ridiculous to the rest of us, but it stuck.

"King Comb Motorhome" (called King Comb for short, and sometimes "Knothead") was my most favorite rooster I ever had. He died when I was just starting college.

Can
you say, "Cruella De Vil"? That hen isn't ours, but we're getting one in Feb of lower quality from a hatchary. That's 100% going to be her name.
