I had one of those one time, worse in my life. I had an infected Meckel's (sp) diverticulum. Took it out, it was wonderful. Didn't know how much it had bothered me over the years and I had just ignored it.

Meckel's as a source of blood loss would be at the top of my list of suspects as well.
