I'm here! Just at work. My MF D'uccles from acid are doing well although I already see quite a few tiny little roo combs poking up. Don't think bantam roos do too well on craigslist.

My sick silkie is eating and drinking but I still think it's blind. Don't think it's Marek's as it can walk around fine, but even with a haircut it can't see the food. Weird! No iris changes, no film/white eyes, no tearing, nothing. Just not 'all there'. Maybe it was pecked in the head? Who knows. My poor tribble silkie.

One of my sizzles grew up with a crest that basically hooded her eyes. I trimmed the crest recently, so she could see better, and she doesn't seem to understand what she sees now. She goes through the exact same behavior she did when she was crested except when a big chicken comes over to her she panics and runs. So she can see, she just acts blind. She always has been kind of special in the mental department.

There is a similsr syndrome in children when they were visually understimulated when babies. They don't connect what they see to actions, or something.

I bet she would try valiantly, though! And be absolutely happy about it, in her little silkie way.

She will I love picking her up to grab eggs out from uderneath her everyday she nestles right back into place:)

They are all in the UK, so the voltage is likely to be 240. Not a huge deal if you have it in your house, but it may limit where you put it. Nothing wrong with the laundry room, but after a few years it may be a drag??

BUT if you are getting it from the UK they are considerably cheaper from http://www.rcomincubators.com, who I think are the guys selling on ebay. It seems that if you buy direct from the distributor the it is cheaper as the distributor is not passing on the outrageous ebay fees on an item like that on to you.
suros are P127 direct cost = $202 so again a bit cheaper than the ebay $236.

Only thing to think about when buying from overseas is the warranty. Make sure it is valid in the US.

Brindle - You mean you are not that keen on the GFF folks?? I think you are in good company but I am not sure why? I would love to know before considering something like these.
I know they made a heap of $$ on the coronation sussex and have been importing other breeds/colors not available here like the lemon cuckoo orpington (or something like that) and charging a bunch for them. These are the same, but as SFH will likely be less popular than orpingtons or sussexs it may take a long time before they are available cheaper. They said they did not know when chicks or hatching eggs would be available for sale. I guess when other people are selling them.

It was very clever of them starting the thread to drum up interest.

Anyone else interested in them ??? next year maybe???

wthchristi just get the eggs for your DD and beg forgiveness later. It is not like your DH does not like chickens and you did loose a bunch.

Hey I got the BOLD thing to work

And when they are discovered .....OH MY GOODNESS!! How DID they get here???

I never ask for permission. It would always be flatly denied (+ some ranting) so I just do it. It is better that way especially as I re-home most fairly quickly.
