space! This thing is huge. I have NO space to put it in the house. We have a room on the outside of our house that I plan on using next Jan/Feb to set it up and heat that room so The chicks will be in there NOT in the house next time Also I plan on doing one huge hatch and maybe thats it?? I say that now but you know how Ive been for the last 4 months haha

Do you sell all of these babies (chicks)?

Who ace?

I meant if you all set up a big giant bator and hatch dozens and dozens together as sonew said...what are you going to do with them all.

Do you sell them all now? Or do you have a huge bunch of coops?

both and give them away too:) I keep only what I want for the most part-I typically keep all hens hatched unless I have alot of one kind

So I am at the end of day 6! Time really could go faster! And guess what!!??? I have a broody! Hubby was all mad because I gave her 5 eggs, my own mixes. That makes a total of 60 until I candle.

. I have to tell y'all a story, it's so cute. Amy's oldest son comes in every day and says he has to watch them till they hatch
jumpy.gif
, I then tell him how many more days it will be and assure him I'll let him know as soon as they start hatching

. We also added 5 new fish to our fish tank, so both her older boys enjoy watching "Fish TV"
wee.gif
. Then of course they wanna pet the chicks we got last Saturday

, aren't 4/5 year olds so cute. To tell the truth I think I'm more antsy about them hatchin' than the kiddos are

We are home from Duke!! For the third time in a month, but we hope it sticks this time, lol.

So... Bad news, all my grown hens that were not in the juvenile pen were killed by a coyote Friday night. The only survivor is my roo. They ripped the hawk netting back from over the top of the run and that's how they got in. I did not lock them in the coop at night (never have and have never had a problem before with this). I had 6 eggs, four of which were a bit old. The rest had been eaten or given away while we were gone by my son. So, we put those in the bator yesterday. I'm a bit late to be in on your hatch, but I'm gonna hang out anyway because I like this little group. Y'all are cool!

Natalie: here are the pics I promised.

Here's the fabulous roo who came in to the world as Rachel but is now Rocky.

And here's Madeline. I am still thinking hen with her. Please don't tell me I'm wrong. I would be thrilled to have one of each since these are both olive eggers...

(A bit blurry on Madeline, but you can see her muffs beginning.)

And here's Bella. You can see the pics aren't really clear. She was wanting to be nosy about the camera. She's in her awkward stage I think, with a mohawk and all. And I'm saying she because I'm hopeful. Don't know enough about silkies to really say.

They are 6 weeks old today. The roo with the big muffs was yellow with a few dark spots. Mostly yellow. The hen with the muffs was solid black.

And of course, the silkie was black. But she has some "grey" like coloring to her. So I think that may be from the split lavender, but not sure.
