Sorry Nat and Phage. I haven't had racoons yet. But the sad thing is that hindsight is 20/20. And nothing is 100% safe. It's so sad, I think chickens are #1 on every animals dinner menu.

Phage, I had to euthanize a 2 month old cockerel last week. I cried my eyes out, then just forced myself to walk out and do it. I wrapped him in a paper towel first because I can't stand to see their face. It's so tragic. I think we all value all life, and that's what makes it hard.

I still have 7 JG's in the bator, 5 more days!

Mary congrats on the 5000! I was thrilled and still am. And I like "Flock Mistress".

Nava, you think your silkie died from heat stroke? Maybe that's what my silkie died from last week. I just found her dead one morning, without any reason I could think of.
