With your levels getting back to normal, are you feeling better?

My sister would never have let me have them. She had plans on selling the remainder, but once things get put in her garage it is only a matter of time before she goes on a cleaning spree and throws every thing out. She took alot of my parent's things which she then got rid of without asking my brother or I if we wanted them.

I think mom's dislike stemmed from too much of a single thing. From what I can gather they were poor and I imagine they ate what was available. Mom was born in 1926 so I can only imagine. She didn't talk about it much. I do think it's funny that my grandfather was a chicken man....maybe I have a genetic prediliction toward poultry husbandry.

I am feeling much better, maybe I can even go back to work. I hate not being able to work and I don't get any money because I'm considered an independant contractor.
so that sucks.

We are leaving next Tues.. I'm going for the SLB. Don't have any extra bucks for the blue laced.

you can make your own blue laced reds if you have the silver lacecd. should be how the they get many more blr wyandottes at the hatcherys.
cross a blr with your silver laced and you should have one sex (I think the roo has to be the silver laced) and his daughters will be silver laced and the roos will be blr or I may have that backwards but crossing the two colors will give you blr in your first generation (they will be poor quality silver laced and of course since these are wyandotte x brahma will take some work to get the feathered feet and combs right so a 2-4 generation project)

Uh, better talk to Nat about that. She is keeping the breeding trio since I can't have roos.

My own guess from looking at hatchery blr, probably from crosses with gold laced. Splash blr x gl, sex doesn't matter, will give all "blr" with the red being variable. Plus no silver chicks to worry about. That's an 'effective' way to mass produce "blrs"..

It's other way around for sex linked mating- hens need to have the sex linked trait & rooster lacking it.. in this case sl hens and blr roo for non-silver daughters. Silver roo will throw 100% silver offspring. Perhaps useful hint for remembering it is barred rock hens are extensively used for sex linked mating.. RIR roo x BR hens= black sex links.
