I don't know. I had the Brindle Girl in my sweat shirt at the time. I'm hoping one or the other because Bill really doesn't need another boy around the house. I just think, ultimately, that would not end well. Blue is a little more independent than Brindle. We'll have to see how they do structurally. Blue may have the edge on that, and I'll just have to deal with the independence. I have been admiring Brindle's very dark eyes, though.
eta can't spell
Everything else being equal, I am really drawn to a white headed dog in the bully breeds for some reason.
Gotta remember we are looking for a show dog. Somebody to go in the conformation ring and performance.
White headed dogs are very flashy. BrG actually has a half white face, the other is dark. The problem with white heads (and 1/2 white) is they frequently don't pigment in like they should around the eyes, nose and lips. The breed standard calls for black nose, lips and eye lids. Fortunately the eye lid on the white side of her face is already starting to pigment. Our other big male, Burbus (RIP) had a half white head and his eye lid did not color all the way like it should have. He finished in the breed ring easily because he was otherwise so dang imposing. It would be harder to do that with a female unless she was very nice in other ways. Also I'm keeping an eye on her rear. Right now she knees out. They are all changing so fast right now it is hard to tell what will happen. Also big fat bellies may be interfering with movement.
The best show prospect is Fat Boy. That boy is going to be a looker and has been promised to a solid show home. The lady I beat in obedience at the AmStaff Nationals wants him. Got back to me so fast after I put the word out I was amazed. It was a nice compliment.
The other person who wants a female understands she gets the one we decide not to keep. That sounds so awful because they are all so sweet and loving and right now they all look like show prospects.
It is going to be really hard letting them go. I keep telling myself 4 dogs is too many to travel with.
3 dogs is about 1/2 a dog too many, but we can manage.
Burbus the Great Big Goober. RIP. Also known as Blub and Butt Head.
eta this pic was taken at the big Astro World Dog Show, as it was called then. It used to be the 2nd or 3rd largest dog show in the US. He was doing meet the breed at the AmStaff booth.
