Shaver reds

I have a small group of EE's that squat like that. It's a great time to reach down and pet them or, if they'll let you, pick them up. It will help tame them down some.

Hey! Yes my shaver reds do that too! I thought they just wanted me to pick them up! They're awful lovey.

I have nine and a Roo (at least we were told he's a Roo but @ 8 months we've yet to hear or see any sign of Roo out of our Dude). The eggs are fabulous. They went from a whitish & rough/sometimes flat on one side ...strange looking coated eggs.. to Gigantic double yolkers to speckeled and now just beautiful large to Xtra large sized eggs. I'm getting at least 30 more this spring! We get a dozen a day right now and they aren't even all laying anf it's freezing here! I can't wait for the summer when they really start laying!

Well good news all. I now have 5 beautiful juevos(eggs). I am at work right now but am hoping I might get a surprise when I get home.

When you move chooks it takes about 2 weeks before they start laying and settle down. It won't make a difference if there is a roo or not to there egg production
