Shaws call duck incubation thread (hatch a wonderful(worthless to Ralphie) dux thread)

Oh how sweet... :love
I just candled 4 of her eggs, and I think they are viable. They have little red blood islands in the center of the yolk, and a little red spot in the middle of those. Maybe 1 or 2 days along. No veins that I could see. I put a question mark on them and gave them back. One of the 4 eggs I candled had black moldy spots along the air cell, so I cracked it, and found what I thought to be a 3 day old embryo long dead. It was nasty and old.
:( dang that stinks!:hugs
No pun intended....:lau

Ughg. You just can't get away from the gross stuff can you :hugs
X2
I know! Gross stuff is my life. Chicken poop, duck poop, dog vomit, rotten eggs, cat puke, horse poop, dirty horse hair, mud ( if you can call it that ), parrot poop, diapers......I've gotten used to it. Mostly.
:lau oh i am right there with ya!
Yup. I know the feeling! And why is it the ladies get all the poo jobs. I've never understood why men can do such gross things like skinning and gutting deer. . processing all kinds of animals And what not. . but then run for the hills if poo or vomit is involved. :lau
Not fair.
Actually I guess I have no idear If your a guy or gal .lol

The girls don't seem to bother my young ones either, kinda run them off, but not attack them. But I see Howard pacing in the background. :gig
Yup. He's an a hole when it comes to the littles.
But the girls were nice to them. . didn't really hang out with them but didn't bother them either.

I had WAY too much Call excitement today.

Last week at a swap I bought two white drakes because the woman selling them wouldn't split them, but I only needed one. So I'm going to try to sell the other at a swap tomorrow. So, I caught him this afternoon and boxed him up and drove him to my house in town to put him in the garage until tomorrow when I have to leave.

Well, somehow, when I put his carrier down in front of the garage, he squeezed out and bolted for the road. What followed was five minutes of panic as I tried to catch him as he ran under my car, the truck, etc until I finally got him with my net.
