Oh Robin, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I hope your other chickens will be okay.
Jaimslee4u - Thanks for the info. I'll check our local PetSmart and see if they might have it at an affordable price.
I'll keep everyone posted (if my dial-up service will let me stay online) and send up prayers for anyone else who is having this problem.
Thanks again to all.

It looks like something that would be in the bird aisle. ( it had a picture of cocketeils & a parakeet on it) I think it was $8.99 (online). I am going to hit the pet store tonight so I can get it before the holiday.

Well, I checked my local Petsmart. They only carry the med online, not in the store. So, with the holiday and all, I probably wouldn't be able to get it until next week some time. So, I found a vet's office that has an avian vet on staff, but she's not in until Monday and they won't dispense without seeing Blueberry first

. I tried arguing that the feed store sells the stuff OTC, I just didn't need 500 pills for 87.00, but they won't do it.
So, I was forced to make an appointment for Monday, with Blueberry, in order to get the medication. What a pain. Well, at least if she's not better by the weekend (and still here on Monday) we'll get a definite diagnosis and the proper meds.
I'll keep everyone posted on any progress with the current vitamin regimen and the vet appointment.
Thanks again.

Jefferspet has it in a powder form( Di-Methox) for $11.25, 1 pkt makes 50 gallons for chickens. They normally ship very fast......I normally buy the liquid in a gallon for $35.
For Coccidia I mostly use Corid, $17 at TSC. It is a liquid that you can give straight to the chicken then also in their water,I normally give 1/4-1/2 cc straight in the mouth then continue in the water. Sulmet $10, at most feed stores treats coccidia and some respiratory issues. it is a sulfa drug aswell.

Thanks Chickenzoo. It still wouldn't come before Monday because of the Holiday. So, I'm still out of luck there.
I did check at the feed store about using Sulmet, but they said that is a completely different medication from the Sulfadimethoxine. Another poster, Mandiedriskill, was having the same problem and her vet, although mystified as to the actual cause of the problem, said to use the Sulfadimethoxine, so I didn't want to switch off to Sulmet. Also, I'm not convinced it's Coccis. There's no blood in her stools at all (and I've checked carefully

. This is my first time having chickens and I'm really trying to be a good MimiChick to them. This is so frustrating. But, I'm still fighting and Blueberry is, so far, not getting any worse. She's still eating and drinking. And sometimes she's sitting a little more upright. So, I'll keep working at this and hope for the best.
Everyone who has posted has been really helpful. And at the very least, the recommendations for the vitamin supplements can't hurt. That might even be what's keeping Blueberry going for now. So, thanks again to all.

please do a search on botcholism(i know i spelled that wrong, sorry) I have seen other members with it and they flushed with epsom salt and molasses. Please do a search and read the thread. if i can find it i will post it...BRB

Sulmet has the same sulfa drug in it, and I just checked the manufactures label. It's a antibiotic and a cocci. treatment. I don't know why the store told you it wasn't the same??? hmmm I hope this helps you out. Just make sure the main ingredient is sulfadimethoxine it will say on the back or front of the package or bottle.
