Been waiting for you!

I need help fast! Three of the 20 meat chicks.
Last night one had a wet bottom, Andi thought he had just fallen inter watered. This morning t and two others have wet bottoms, closed eyes, are standing in the corners with their wings slight lifted. Does it sound like Cocci?
I put ACV and oregano oil in their water and moved them to a fresh hutch

I had one like that....I just placed it's little leg back underneath it multiple times and it figured out how to walk on its own. I know you can make a splint similar to splay leg. It would work great too.
I will try that before I go all SC on it.

Figure out if it is splayed or slipped tendon. If its slipped, it needs fixed quick! That was the reason for my only cull.
How do you fix it if it's slipped?

I did. Here's the rundown:

7 remaining eggs

1 late quitter, looks like around day 14
5 fully formed DIS
1 not DIS. Pipped, partial zip, and shrink wrap. It either pipped on the bottom, or was rolled over before the chicks were taken out. Severely shrink wrapped. Was not assisted.

Also, the runt was dead when I got home, and another small one was on its back barely breathing. Rough night last night, so now I am left with 10, but the 10 remaining look to be very healthy. With the smaller chicks dying, and the fully formed DIS, I am definitely running 30% on the set tonight. My goal was at least 30 for the winter, so it's looking like back to back sets again. I hate having the losses, but at least I have more chicks now than I started with last year.
These chicks crave attention. When I put my hand in the brooder, they jump up on the heater and step onto my hand. I'm very happy to have the chicks I have, and this will be chalked up as part of the learning experience on BCM
Great hatch. I'm surprised by the after hatch deaths. None of my chicks have been friendly. Every time I reach in the brooder they act like I'm reaching for a chicken nugget to dip in sauce and eat in one bite.

I was very pleased with how the seller/sender packed and marked the eggs. Not a single crack and she sent two extra. I'm not thrilled about the color choices or ratio. It was supposed to be a mixed lot of 5 different colors. 50% of the eggs are the same color. Anyone know what color B/S2 stands for? I'm thinking Blue/shelf? Idk, though. And I only got one egg of the color I really wanted!

The package was covered with stickers, I counted 12 and labeled with her NPIP #. She did a great job on the packing. Too bad the postal service fudged up. I'll have to wait until tonight to check air cells better. Looks like all are loose, a few saddle, but none seemed to be detached, from what I could tell. It was too bright in the house and I didn't want to over handle them after all the mileage that's on them.

I've never seen these before, when I start shipping next year, I plan on getting these.
I started asking shippers NOT to put any stickers on the box. I think that's why they get lost and some USPS employees have admited to throwing them out of spite. My 11 out of 14 hatch came from 1300 miles away and had no stickers. I read about the no sticker thing here on BYC and I will always go that route.
I added the "th" to make it sound like a lisp just like you said. I did it the first time to make fun of Ross for saying her friend sounded sthuper sthcandalous. Sthounded like sthomething my brother would sthay

It's a great morning! I woke up to a heaping 12 beautiful ducklings. Started with 18 eggs five were not fertile out of the 13 eggs all hatched except 1. I candled it but there is no internal pip...should I open it a tad?
Congratulations on the great hatch!

Happy Birthday Friday!!
