She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

The local pond where I do the majority of my fishing is slam full of bass, gills, crappie AND turtles; some turtles big around as a basketball. Don't think turtles are fast enough to do much damage to the fish population; they prefer their fish dinners already on a stringer!

Didn't think about how slow the turtles are and how fast the fish are...

I have another question, where they pipped externally the membrane isnt broke, is that normal?

Sc beat me to it!

It makes sense that they would cool down faster after removing them because they are not generating body heat of their own.

Yes, that makes sense to me too but if they were cold in the incubator, I would worry. I hand turn, so I'm touching eggs 5 times a day. The clears, the active ones and the quitters are all warm when I'm turning.

And those turtles love to snack on baby ducklings. I was watching baby ducklings swim behind their mom over the summer, at my neighbors and we saw turtle come up and pull one right under for lunch!!

Morning Ruby! I bet those FB people are ready to smack you. I don't think FB has the fun smack emoji that we have though!

And you asked about me putting Call ducks on my pond... I'm starting to think I may not do call ducks. I'm still debating. But I did discover that I have bunches and bunches of bass in my pond!! A couple of years ago, we moved 4 fish from the other pond on the property to the pond closest to the house. I was never sure if they survived or not, but apparently they did!! And they reproduced! They were there when my last set of ducks were there too. And I believe that tells me that I don't have any turtles that might harm the ducks, or they would have eaten the fish, I think. But if I do calls, I think I would always keep them at my house, not at the camp pond.
My uncle has bass in his pond, I've personally seen some of them swallow a duckling or two whole

still have sore toes should level out soon . I'm still thinking about that Thor chicken whatever it was never seen anything like that before. face feathers I've seen always stick straight out . those curled around . almost wish I had a bigger and better Incubator. I can see the plus to having one or two large hatches a year . of course most people don't hatch as often as others . BTW you posted that chart . I think I'll get what I want out of your eggs. If not I'll get so more and do it again .

You're talking about Kairos, my Araucana, lol... he's how an Araucana is supposed to look... the eggs you have now are from my tailed group... but some of the chicks do come out with the tufts...

Kai sunbathing... he follows me around like a dog now, lol...

No, I posted the BBS chart for SC... the Lav/Split chart is different...

You can get Lavs from breeding Splits to Splits, but you'll also get blacks that don't carry Lav and no way to tell which ones do or not without growing them out and breeding them... but Lav to Splits will produce only Lavs and Splits...

Guess I shouldn't mention that my very first hatch was 100%?

In a still air Hovabator 1602N with 4 pullet EE eggs and 1 was 3 weeks old ar set?

My first hatch was like six out of nineteen . but I knew nothing about hatching chickens . thing is they got worse . I do better now . but there is so much room for improvement . I hope to figure it out this winter . right now I must get back to work .talk to you'll later.

When I candled earlier, 1 of them looked like he kept pushing up and down on the aircell, I'm thinking it was his beak, is he trying to pip internally or has he already done that and maybe now he's trying to pip through the shell? I'm a little worried that maybe he can't get into the cell cause this was the egg that had a loose cell til about day 18 or 19.
