thanks for the chuckle

Also @RavynFallen not sure how much they wiggled and jiggled in transit but several were scrambled and one was cracked but I swear the way it was cracked I didn't see it til I candles it. Was dirt in the crack once I noticed so it was a crack prior to ship...
my phone spell checks for me all the time...I meant poo covered. I live on East coast too...I just lost about 100$ worth that I candled tonight...day 15 for second hatch. I lost all the leghorns I ordered from NC, all but 4/10 lavander orp, one was addling in the shell and it had a crack in it so it was stinking, it was from PA, and they were dirtier than I like, and I lost 8/12 Amerucauna....not to happy right now.....so I understand your disappointment.

Hey, where's my fam at? Whtchu got going on this AM, @rossfam06 ?
I'm thinking, 20/yoga 20/pilates 20/strength and then out for a run. Might even jump through a few barn windowns while I'm out there. So whatcha derrrin'? Huh? huh? huh?

Good morning, Vietnam!!

I tell my hubby if the eggs are for eating they will be in the fridge with no writing g on them. If the are out on the counter or laundry room and have dates and letters on them, then they are for hatching and not to touch them....he almost refrigerated eggs I was going to sell for hatching. Men!!!

None of mine are for hatching, and I leave them all out. I do date them though. And he didn't use the oldest ones!

lol... we don't refrigerate any of our eggs... my OH doesn't ever touch an egg without asking if it's ok first... he usually doesn't need to though since I do all the cooking anyways... :gig

He doesn't do much cooking either, but was home (unsupervised) yesterday! I date all the eggs and asked why he would leave ones from the weekend, but eat Monday's egg? He said 'I just grabbed some'... So I had to teach him a little lesson :D

Well I was about to go for a freedom run... (without kiddo in a stroller) after I got home from dropping the oldest off at school but....Stella was awake. So now she is eating breakfast and well I may just run with her afterall...unless daddy wakes I time!!;) then I have to bathe n my Nebo (black lab) because he has a vet app this afternoon. He has been hurting and whining a lot because of his hips. :hit. I hope it will not be a sad day!!! :hit

Well I was a naughty girl, just now. I ordered some eggs from a BYC lady and I wasn't reprimanded.

Who was supposed to reprimand you? Want me to do it? Um... I'll try... You know you shouldn't be setting eggs in October. It's gonna be getting cold. And, brooding chicks in the house in cold weather is a very BAAADDDD thing. But, wait... If you use a heating pad, those little chickies can go right out to the coop, and be brooded right there in the coop, where integration will be super easy, they'll probably be integrated by the time they are 4 weeks old, roosting by the time they are 5 weeks old, and you could have teeny tiny cute lil multi colored pullet eggs in March. Good for you!!! There, was that a good and proper reprimand???

The link, I may order some too. I had to fire the bator back up to do some quail (will probably cull most for freezer) and I won swap eggs from @Ray_n_Debi :D

They look like an awesome mix, good luck!!

I was going to say that sometimes men are a little slow (no offense) but then I saw that a few comments after this included women putting the fear of God into their husbands!! :lau

I just had a third one that was the same way. I can't figure out why unless I miscalculated the hatch, because the turner was left on and then I saw pips, I had them marked to hatch starting Friday.

Were your temps high? That could cause the early hatch and the mal-positions are probably from the turner. With shipped eggs, I stop turning on day 16 to give them some extra time to get in position.

400

This box was inside another box and was cushioned in that box with air pillows on the sides.
It traveled two days from the same coast I'm on. 6 didn't even begin to develop.
The eggs with poop on them were the quitters...
Left them out for a day to settle 12-18 hrs before bating, then a few days incubating without turning, 2-3 I think.

Looks like good packing to me. The best shipped batch I've had to date, were packed exactly like that. And from GA to NY.

I'm very hesitant to buy more shipped eggs... I want a few different kinds of birds to add to my flock tho so I dunno...

What breeds are you looking for? I'll have silkie eggs in spring, if you just want to pay shipping and give them a try.

The last two months I wasted over $150 on 2 bad batches of shipped eggs. You are not alone! :hit

And Ross~ good luck at the vet!! :fl

Lazy, this is my exact plan for my batch due this weekend! Anxious to try outside brooding for the first time!

We rescued him and think he was about 4 years old and we think he is about 8 years old and he has grey facial hair.

@RubyNala97

Thank you I hope so too! I hope that we don't have to put him down
Everything I have been researching on his symptoms sounds like swelling of the spinal cord.....and it's passed down through his bloodline. So.....we can only pray at this point that it is good news.
