She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I have a question about cockerel behavior. My boy bites all the girls on the back of the neck but no mating. They are a month younger then him and try to get away from him when he bites them. Is this normal? Will they mate when they are older and will they start submitting to him?
Yeah, I tried it once on an egg that I knew I was going to loose. It was like surgery! If they are not positioned right to internally pip, finding the beak under the membrane is near impossible!! It was way to much!

My black mollies were prone to tumors.

I think the issue is that he's older than the girls.  Not a good situation, and in a flock with more than one cockrel, can lead to gang raping.  This is when it's beneficial to have a few mature biddies to flog some manners into that delinquent.  Can you put him in rooster jail until the girls are at POL?

x2

Not only is he a month older, but males become sexually mature before females anyways... females will only submit once they're ready, and may not still if he hasn't earned/learned his place... also the males seem to totally lose their minds when hormones kick in, both cockerels and drakes do it... :/
If you don't have some older hens to keep him with until he learns proper behavior, if at all possible at least isolate him until the hormone surge calms down... he can and might seriously hurt young pullets...
I always raise mine with my older girls or they live in a bachelor pad... but do not let him get away with treating them like that... he needs to learn that isn't acceptable...

This sounds like what 1 of my Nankin roos does. He grabs them by the back of the neck and pins there head to the ground and then let's them go. But he does all this from in front of them.

Taking pictures isn't so easy with moving targets, lol. Here is the foot I bandaged yesterday. It was mostly the outer toe that curled. I'm not sure if I got it spread out enough. How long should I leave this on?

I'd isolate him too... actually, especially him... bantams tend to be more aggressive than lf or at least more vicious about it... it is bully behavior and should not be tolerated...

Leave it a few days, gotta give it time to settle straight...

Mine is normally like that, he actually surprised me when he showed interest in the different rare breeds of chickens I wanted. Normally he just responds to everything with "Uh hu" and then if I ask him a question about what I had said he'll have no clue what I'm talking about cause he wasn't actually listening and just responds to anything I say with an answer he thinks I want to hear, lol.
You could use that kind of non listening agreement to your advantage.... when you come home with the next new and very expensive "what ever it is you want". When he raises complaint, then... all you gotta say is: Well, honey, we discussed this last Friday night. I asked if it was a good idea for me to buy it, and you said, Uh hu!"

It will need to be changed every couple of days any ways because they grow so fast. You can re-evaluate then, and then reposition the toe and replace the bootie if needed for a few more days.

They must be related, lol. Gotta love 'em though. There's not a thing in this world my DH wouldn't do for me... well, except communicate, lmao.

Will do, thank you.

They are too cute, booty and all

My DH tries that on me... not necessarily something he wants to buy but anything... he'll say, "I told you last week."

Thank you. I'm actually afraid to take it off. The band aide I used might be too sticky. The other chick keeps pecking at it so maybe she'll get it off for me, lol. I'm referring to them both as females hoping it makes a difference, lol

That is a wonderful idea, lol. My husband is going to ban me from BYC, lol
