She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Sorry to hear that. I set 15 shipped eggs last week, 2 were clear, the rest are growing great. Air cells had damage, I let the eggs rest at room temp in the tray for 12 hours after unpackaging, then put into the incubator. My cabinet turns all trays 90 degrees every hour, no issues.

I just set another 100+ shipped eggs the other day, I'll be candling this weekend. Same treatment, set 12 hours then right in and turning. Half of them have really loose, stretched or saddled air cells.
Awesome. Hope the second batch does as well as the first.

2 more BWA eggs were pulled today;. one quitter that had a really damaged air cell, and another that I had questioned - was scrambled when I checked it. Down to 4.out of 18. At least the 4 look really healthy so far.

I swear air cells in eggs pop with the change in altitude - kind of like our ice cream does at the store. Wish I could find some good eggs in Colorado or somewhere higher than we are.

Maybe try asking for pullet eggs?? I wonder if that would make a difference??

You know it might. I think the ones that are still cooking had almost no air cells. I'll have to look at the dates and see if the freshness has any correlation with survival. They were all less than a week old, so it probably didn't matter.

Found someone in town who has some interesting birds, but nothing I really want. Will just have to be happy with my Orloffs and Halfloffs for now.
