She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Candled the shipped eggs.. not good. I think I have a few blood rings, a few clear.. no good veining on any of them and they all have loose, wonky-shaped air cells. I don't know what I could have done differently. I let them rest well over 24hrs, I incubated without turning for 2.5 days and then hand turned them. I'm going to recheck them all again in a few days and ditch the blood rings and clears.

Sorry to hear that. I set 15 shipped eggs last week, 2 were clear, the rest are growing great. Air cells had damage, I let the eggs rest at room temp in the tray for 12 hours after unpackaging, then put into the incubator. My cabinet turns all trays 90 degrees every hour, no issues.

I just set another 100+ shipped eggs the other day, I'll be candling this weekend. Same treatment, set 12 hours then right in and turning. Half of them have really loose, stretched or saddled air cells.

Is there any benefit to spinning the shipped eggs with bad air cells by hand? I have them on the turner, but didn't plug it in. I just spin each one a few times a day, but I'd much rather just plug the turner in if it doesn't make any difference.

This is the angle I have them at.

Maybe a young pheasant, feathers look like the cape on my wall. I don't think a juvy grouse would be that big.
Thanks for the reply. :) One of my friends husband said ruffled grouse and the pic she showed is very similiar except this one had darker coloring more brown, but it had the featherly legs that this had too. It was one of the first things I noticead..well, after it died and I was looking it over

How do you "spin" them?

My husband said it resembled a grouse as well..
When the eggs are sitting in the turner on an angle like that, I just turn them about 180 degrees.. kind of like spin them, rotating them clockwise.
