how soon could you see the lacing, after hatched?

mine right now are looking more speckled than laced....

You can tell the lacing quality very early on. I think this girl is about 3 weeks old maybe 4?

Very sharp, straight cuticle scissors work best from what I heard... just keep it simple and quick, you'll do just fine... :)

I am having a hard time getting my humidity up in my Brinsea! day one of lockdown , I cut sponges and put them in the water wells and filled them up. i thought that would get it higher, but it says my humidity level is only 35%? Is it going to hurt my babies to when i get back in there and do something?

If you are running your heater at all, your indoor humidity is probably pretty low this time of year. A lot of people with Octagons need to put a double layer of paper towels across the whole bottom of the bator - from one side, dipping in both wells, to the other side. The paper towels (some people use felt or other fabric) acts as a wick and releases the humidity better. It makes clean-up easier, too!

So I has to....I candled and it looks like I have one internal pip but it's not making any noise. And the other 4 died! ! :hit. I don't know what happened. So I eggtopsied the 4 and well...let's just says they all that same look of double yolk with black stuff. So I doubt it was a twin. I think it was bacteria. From where...not sure. Also it looked like they didn't loose enough fluid. So that shame on me. Fingers crossed for my sole surviving duckling!! Garrett is going to call it Mighty. Lol! :fl
