She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I got one hatch this morning and several pips on backyard chicks that I wasn't expecting until tomorrow. First one was 15 minutes pip/zip/pop. That is one baby in a hurry. And that was after moving the eggs while in lockdown from one incubator to another, and not giving any attention to which way the dip in the air cell is and just rolling them on in.
Congrats!

Congratulations on your quick hatcher :celebrate Good luck with the rest

My hatch is done at last!! 25/25 that made it to lockdown have hatched :yesss:
A little drawn out as in the last three hatched today (day 22) Have had to move the 22 out to the shed today as the guinea cage was too full and they were leaping from the ecoglow already!! So just have the 3 late ones in now untill they are a little stronger.

Thanks :highfive: I will be sat out with them tomorrow, the shed is great for that. Only moved them out a few hours ago so giving them chance to settle before I start mauling them. I'm sure they will be sick of me soon enough sitting out with them. I've just sneaked out and had a quick look and they are like a little carpet under the lamp so cute :love

Two more out, one was dead in the shell after pipping.  The two that are out were pipped on the wrong end, first one head between legs.  The one dead in the shell had his head outside his wing.  Such confused little birds...

Oh no :hugs Did turning go ok during incubation? Sometimes how the eggs are stored prior to setting can affect embryo positioning.

That's fantastic. I've never had 100% from lockdown

Yep, I had these set in a turner while waiting for incubation (6 days for our EE x RSL, up to 11 days for EE), then turned reliably throughout with auto turners. Due to travel I had to put them in lockdown a day early but didn't raise the humidity until last night. It's a nice 67% in there, membranes are nice and white.

The backwards one had a side air cell. The one that died was extremely tight in the shell, I think he just couldn't move to let himself out. Eventually his membrane turned brown (no stickiness at all), and when I went to check on him after he partially zipped, he was already dead. This has been my problem with the turkeys too.
