You can call that the go big or stay home thread. While I don't get Amy's or SC's hatch rate, I also spend about 15 minutes a week tending it (mostly checking to be sure the turners have moved) and can leave it for a week without worrying about temp changes as it has a thermostat that actually controls temperature. Since the thermostat has a cooling relay, in a hot climate you could even wire in a fan that pulls cooler air in if the incubator gets too hot.
This could easily be simplified and scaled down. I had grand plans to incubate 200 eggs at a time. In reality, I never had more than 100 in at once. I'm very happy with its performance as an incubator, and I will be testing the revised hatcher design on June 28-29.
