She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Just let the hen out with her chicks for the first time. Went better than expected and managed to get them back in too!

Love the broody Polish girl. She's awesome.

It was amazing. I held each egg against my heart for 7 minutes so they would get to know me. I named each of them, then kissed the egg and brushed it against my cheek before lovingly setting it back in the incubator. My humidity was 43% instead of 42%, so I took a Q-tip and removed small amounts of water until I stabilized at 42%. The entire process to 6.5 hours, but was so worth it. The miracle of life is truly amazing

Nah, what really happened is I went in that room to get a shirt out of the closet, and the power was still on, so it's good

I did decide that there is another ratio that needs to be measured into the successful hatch equasion. It's called the HOSPH ratio, an ackronym for Hours Of Sleep Per Hatch. You have to keep track of the hours you sleep at night for 21 days, then divide by the number of eggs that hatch, so my last set would have looked something like this: 147hrs/22 hatched=6.68 HOSPH

That is actually something I have been considering since I have yet to purchase/build an incubator. How much extra time does it really take.

The alternative incubation method described last week was a beautiful thing and comforting to imagine. What you suggest is just disgusting

What about your man bra, the bro?

1. Happy Birthday

2. I don't need anymore chicks either, but I do need to test out the new fan in my incubator so I guess I have to incubate some of my Marans over RSL eggs. You know, it's for science.

I applaud your dedication to science, sir.

Happy birthday, WV!

I sold my Little Giant! Hooray!!!!!!!! Now to sell the Leahy.

With all the wheeling and dealing I am doing, eventually I'll have an OvaEasy for zero out of pocket.

It's too late this year but next spring I am going to hatch chicks like crazy. Not sure if I want to hatch for others or just hatch my own eggs for sale. Maybe both. I will have to create a good hatching app to track tray loads and hatch dates. The GQF came with quail, pheasant, chicken, and turkey trays so I am pretty well set there.

Congrats!

The number is a Tracphone in Corbin KY. I much prefer doing long distance transactions with someone with a landline, or at least a cell phone account with a carrier.

Anyone interested in the GQF 1402 I just bought after I replace the turner, element and thermostat? I think I am going to keep rebuilding these as a hobby. Parts should be here in the next few days and if I make a couple bucks on each I can save up for what I want when I decide what that is.

I like that one too! I want to incubate some more.... but I really don't need to..... but I want to.... but I don't need any more chickens.... oh goodness....

I just wish someone would pay me to incubate for them regularly....lol

Okay, well, I sold the turner and LG egg candler for a good sum and the incubator was free.

LOL

For the birthday chick...because I can't post the images I'd really like to and stay G-rated, you get chickens!!!

Such chatterbugs lately!

So, what is the youngest your chickens started laying eggs? Did they squat for 1-2 weeks or longer? I've got a young barred rock who squatted today.

I see poultry ads, and dog food ads, but I have NO idea why I see dating ads! I promise I'm not searching those! *insert shrug emoji here cause I can't remember how to do it*

I think they only see that because of what they search on google. Trust me. Just like your Facebook page.have you ever wondered why thing would pop up that you were just looking for?? ;)
