well look at me, managed to post more than one pick. Check out poor little bubbles, she is holding her own.

Well, guys, we got the eggs set tonight!Woo-hoo!!
Hubs did a great job on the gutting and resurrection, and it's holding very steady(right between 99.5 and 100.5). We were extremely pleased with Incubatorwarehouse, as well as the incukit(so far).
So here goes something. Guess we will see if my assumptions were right and I stick with team red or if we end up in the middle. Don't think I can pull off being team blue, I'm really itching to candle(and caress, and kiss and name) these eggs.
Sorry to be so MIA, but things are busy around here right now, I haven't been able to keep up with you guys!
Updates to follow!!squeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

#1, I don't care if Amy doesn't want me posting here, I need help, and a lot of smart people have this thread subscribed.

I have a chick on Day 24. I had to take the cap of the egg, wait till the inner membrane reduced blood, then took that off. I have fed the chick water via a syringe, and it has seemed to be happy to drink it. But it has not come out of the rest of the shell. Its alive, and somewhat dry, breathing, and its beak is moving a lot, but its not trying to come out...its basic position has not changed since I first took the cap off. Tomorrow is Day 25...the egg was 6 days old when it went into the bator. What should I do? I want to clear the bator for another setting of 48...a good friend who has hatched a lot of chicks says it will die, eventually (iows, all this time I have given it to hatch is not going to matter). It is not a pet, and its not an expensive egg.

Cull tomorrow morning?
I would have culled the entire egg yesterday. I don't want anything after day 23. Honestly, based on your philosophy, I'm surprised you're even trying. Day 24 complicated hatch? I would cull

Eggs a plenty.

First pip. The 2nd one is barely detectable.

This first one is a cuckoo marans and the 2nd is a black copper marans. I have my niece here watching this hatch. She is loving it as she was with me when I bought the eggs.

You might be too young to remember, there are 2 gals that sing kinda folksy rock, called The Indigo Girls. Had a friend see them not long ago, so they still get around. Their music is different but I always liked them. Awesome acoustic harmonies, if you like that kind of thing. All my family left and the thunder and lightening rolled in!! Have not heard thunder like that in a long time. BOOM! Hoping my power stays on. One friend brought me a new bottle of turkey, so I'm good, even if the powers goes out lol
The Beatles are my favorite band.....I know who the Indigo Girls are!!!! Lol! Don't judge me!!! ;)

You got a lot of good advice! I just work shell back and slowly stretch the membrane. Until the chick can push itself out or if it can't I roll the egg in my hand and the chick slowly falls out....I leave the chick attached and peek into the shell to see if there is still yolk that needs to be absorbed...if not the chick will rest up and kick free.
That's a tough one. At this point I'm guessing it is glued into the shell. If it were me, and admittedly I'm not as experienced as others, I'd slowly break up the shell and rinse/soak the poor thing in warm water and see if the shell pieces will come off. Dry it off with a blow dryer set on low. Then give it some "egg yolk soup" (hard boiled egg mixed in electrolyte water).. Good luck.
Nice post!!!
Can you post a pic? I'm waiting for others to respond. I don't have enough experience. But I would think since you're doing a full on assist from a non-pipped egg, it's not going to be able to get out on its own. Keep going little by little every 2 hrs. Stop when you see blood. I think that's the rules. Good luck.
I too would like to see a picture.

Nice!! We love the blue and black laced red wyandottes! We ordered a bunch of chicks from slackwater, awaiting the hatch now! If it takes as long as it inevitably will, we may end up ordering eggs too. lol Very pretty birds!
Can't wait to see pics of your chicks. Which breed?

Thanks! It's simple, but I like it, too! I can't wait to see the little buggers hatch.

We are currently looking for a free fridge if you know anyone between here and Savannah. haha jk

@NTBugtraq , good luck with your little chickie. Sounds like a rough ride. I probably wouldn't have taken it. Brave person, you are.
