I got the Duracell Durabeam Ultra 1000 Lumens from amazon and it is crazy bright. Worked great on my green and blue eggs. I used grey tape to add half of a toilet paper tube to the top of it to prevent light leakage.Hi everyone , as anyone got any tips on candling blue eggs, I,m due to candle tmoz day 7 and I know they can be hard to candle, any pointers would be greatly received
Brightest light you can, dark room, candle from the fat end down. You may have to go by air cell size. Some of my EE eggs are harder to see through than the BCMHi everyone , as anyone got any tips on candling blue eggs, I,m due to candle tmoz day 7 and I know they can be hard to candle, any pointers would be greatly received
LOL. If they made a more dependable product they wouldn't get slammed...lol But, if people had more and better info for the hatching and hatched even semi successfully, their reputation would improve. But when you have an inferior product and then you give even more inferior info on hatching making it more impossible to get a good hatch that's what's going to happen.I read a lot, especially about my hobbies. The problem I ran into with incubating was I did my reading after the fact. I think BYC should be referenced in manuals, but LG will never do it because they get blasted in here. It's a shame, too, because so many people buy from TSC, and those things are so available. I love TSC, and buy most of my supplies there, but I would never buy my incubator or chicks from there. Well, let me ammend that. If I just wanted a mixed bag of layers, I wouldn't mind buying from TSC, but if people knew how many people were actually breeding chickens, there are so many more options for better birds. I think TSC capitalizes on the impulse buy.
Yes, for $300-400 you expect better quality, but at least you do get it. It was worth the money for my situation. Sure wish I could build a dependable BrinZea, like some people![]()
That's how I'd do it. But I would charge only for the chicks that hatch, if they were supplying the eggs. If I was supplying the eggs, then I might charge per egg.I talked to a guy a few weeks ago that has 4 sportsmans and charges $1 an egg, hatch or not. He sets every Thursday. He hatched thousands in the last year. Has a lot of repeat customers that do not want to hassle with it. He turns a lot of revenue doing it. No contracts, just good old country handshakes.
A very bright light...lol Other than that, I have to tips.Hi everyone , as anyone got any tips on candling blue eggs, I,m due to candle tmoz day 7 and I know they can be hard to candle, any pointers would be greatly received

Here is my thought on hatching eggs as a service. One, I don't have the volume to make it worthwhile, but even if I did I don't think I would want to be flooding my local market with chicks that I could have sold myselfThat's how I'd do it. But I would charge only for the chicks that hatch, if they were supplying the eggs. If I was supplying the eggs, then I might charge per egg.
