I understand how you fell for it. The guy that started the thread did a great job presenting it as a real project, and his writing was superb. I'm not making fun of you for falling for it, I just really appreciate the humor of the thread. Most anyone over 40 would instantly know what a Tribble was, and almost no one your age would. Your not dumb for believing it, there's just a huge age difference. I appreciate you telling me about the thread. That was a great laugh

Kind of like paying thousands in education taxes every year when you don't have kids, huh? Thanks to all who commented on the eggs The narcissist in me wanted to quote all of you, but I just picked one To be totally honest, it was cloudy outside, and the eggs appear just a hair darker in the pic than they really are, but the flash on the camera washed them out, so I used that one. They are very dark, but that pic is a bit much. The one on the right is one of my average eggs, probably a 5-6, and I do get some lighter. The one to the left is a solid six, and the one in the rear is a solid 7. I have 4 girls that I bought when they were a year old, and two were molting when I bought them. These 2 super dark eggs I have gotten the last few days must be their first post-molt eggs, but I am very pleased with the color

That's very nice of you to be so honest. But I'm sure they still look awesome!

Yea, its only the 20. I was surprised that I could get that many. I had tested with a small silkie egg the night before, so I knew if I bought that many, I could get them in there. I think I could have gotten maybe 4 more in. Setting the whole tray in there made me a little nervous. I'd probably be worse pulling the whole thing out, but I'll try it. I'll relax in 7 more days anyway. Thanks for the tip. I also ran my Spot Check through the vent hole and hung the tip just above the eggs (taped it into place on the outside). After that Chinese knockoff's temperature being all over the place, it was nice to see the Spot Check stay on one number consistently!

When I first started, I would check the temp 3xday. Now after a day or two, I'm like let me make sure my temps are the same and they usually are!! It's great!

they are looking good color is coming along it's strange some days you'll find all lite eggs. others will be all dark .and others will be mixed .really looking forward to my pullet eggs . to see what next generation looks like .
