Last night after I checked all my pc stuff and turned it off and went to bed I was laying here thinking and started to think "Ok, I saw WV ask me how Elvis was doing, I thought I quoted the post in a multi-quote (had an answer in my head) but I don't remember it coming up in the post or answering her'.  So, If I answered and don't remember then I'm sorry, my bad, chalk it up to senility or sc's fault or something. (I'm too lazy to go searching through the pages to find the question and see if I replied.) But in case I am right and didn't answer:

Elvis is doing great!  He's healed nicely. His crest looks a little sad with the missing feathers, but he's back to his lively self. He's been back in with the others and no one has even attempted to bother him.  The coop is actually a lot more calmer w/Gibbs gone. The girls are happy to not be molested as much. Elvis still is practicing....lol  Gibbs-being the arrogant cock he was had that mastered...lol (Though he was quite rough.) So it's a little relief for the girls for a bit.  Thanks for asking!

I fall asleep thinking about chickens and eggs and BYC (the website) too! Lol. I'm glad he's doing better. Seems like you made the right choice for everyone!

I DONNO! Im not finicky with breed, or even species for that matter

i have a single LO hen, Momma Blue is one of our favorites, a nautrual lap chicken. Ive seen yours too, and i wouldnt turn that breed away! I also have a cochin hen, and a gold laced wyandotte, who could be projects. Hubby wants more blue sweedish ducks... For a flock seperate of my Cajuga. I want more BR turkey hens, because i Need more spoiled enourmous birds

its all going to depend on what i can find around here and who (breeder wise) gets weeded out. I know a couple people but i dont want my uncles ducks again, theyre over bred making them less viable. Plus i dont want to furthure encourage him.

Well, one thing to consider... I keep reading about people saying they wished they had started with better stock. Over and over, I keep reading that. So go with the best you can find, in any breed you choose. I also thought that when I started out, I'd take whatever I could get... didn't really matter. Now that I am a little more serious about it, I know I got lucky with my LO's. Not so lucky with my cochins, but I could tell that when I met the girl with the eggs..

But if you are going to get that bator on Saturday, you better find something soon. It will kill you sitting there not being plugged in!!
