@RavynFallen Miracles legs. She has settled down alot with her chirping. We had a chat. She seems happier with chicks her size.

Well, how accommodating of her! lol...

She has plump pads on bottoms of her feet, tops of toes and legs don't look too thin, and her poop looks fine... maybe she was cheeping so much cuz she had to run around at top speed to keep up with the Orps... might want to get something soon to tag her with so you can keep track of her as she grows??

Good!  I forgot to turn these for a couple of days.  They are all less than a week old, so we should be okay.

Unless I am collecting for someone else, I never turn mine, lol... I put my eggs in flats on the counter and just grab them from there and put them in the bator when I feel like it... but the eggs are only 7-10 days old...

Next spring I was going to test and turn half my eggs during storage but not the other half and see what the results were cause I honestly question the practice of turning when storage. I have a philosophy in my head about that, but with you and Lazy, doesn't sound like it's neccessary.

How do you best tag the babies?

First I use those colored loom bands that are used to make kids bracelets (like a baby hair rubber band)... I double it over to keep it from coming off the day olds leg... once it gets close to snug I unloop it for a bit more, then switch to using small colored zip ties... just have to check them each day to make sure they don't become tight on the leg...

You guys are so lucky to have eggs! Starting up a flock from eggs is hard & long! I should get my first egg in another month or two unless it gets too cold. Then I'll have to wait till spring. Chickens might not lay in the cold, right?
