There's a free forum site... make a closed group, maybe?

Technically, SC doesn't need to be in the know cause he doesn't want any eggs and already made his clique arrangements..... lol
wink.png
But in all seriousness I think there are a lot of members and reguglars on our thread that don't use FB. I was surprised to see various people mention not having FB.
True about SC, he can be out of the planning

FB closed groups work pretty well, but I'm open to other ideas.

Yeah, that works great for you and Ross, who have what each other wants.

The rest of us may need to get a little more creative.

That's true, I don't have many chickens, and they are all unproven. Still willing to share though, if anyone is interested in what I have next year.

Unfortunately, I don't have room for too many new ones either.

Still will be fun to watch from the sidelines if that's what happens!

The Little Giant Still-Air Incubator Model 9200 is a tried-and-true way to incubate and hatch eggs. I tried, that's true
Durable Styrofoam retains warmth, generated by a gentle(erratic) heating element controlled by a highly undependable, solid-state thermostat. The thermostat can be easily adjusted at small increments to suit varying environments assuming your environments are Antarctica or Death Valley. Built-in moisture channels allow the addition of water to the bottom of the incubator to help maintain humidity, a key factor in egg health. (Not Included, needs replaced from hardware store,)
hu.gif
The water channels aren't included? Mesh screen safely supports eggs during hatch period, keeping your chicks at the optimal elevation to walk into the whirring blades of death. Two 4 in. x 8 in. viewing windows allow for monitoring the hatching process and are great for educational purposes such as teaching children that all chicks aren't cute, fluffy, happy little bundles of joy. Teach them the cruelty of life at a young age. Get 'em ready. Holds 59 large chicken eggs or up to 100 small chicken eggs when used with the Little Giant

Automatic Egg Turner if you stack them tightly on top of one another and duct tape the lid shut. This product is intended for general poultry hobbyists and is not recommended for professional or commercial use or for incubating exotic birds, such as chickens or ducks.

Wow... guess BYC didn't appreciate you knockin' their biggest sponsor...

BYC is always taking the words out of my mouth!!

@AmyLynn2374 I saw this and thought of you!

Personal opinion: WV graciously offered to put a list together so that there was a record of who is willing to possibly donate what and who would like to participate with an idea of who would like what. I think, that having this list is the organization we need and adds a little fairness and lets people see what's to offer and who they might be able to exchange with. I think making this list public in someway is all that is needed and the members can view the list and make their own contacts and arrangements after that. And that's what I think.

Well thank you. See below for my thoughts now...

When did you become a Golden Feather!? Fancy, very nice.
thumbsup.gif
You get a Golden Feather when you buy the membership. I did that several months ago, to get rid of the ads! But thanks for finally noticing!
big_smile.png
I did just change my avatar pic, so that's probably why you just noticed it. Isn't that little golden girl adorable?!

Not trying to ruffle feathers (been waiting forever to say that on this forum!), but that could undermine someone that is willing to trade or donate for fun, but also trying to sell to the greater population of BYC. If I put up an auction in the spring it may not go well if there are a bunch of folks looking at the trade list and just hoping to trade for eggs. I would not have thought about it so much, but this thread is getting pretty popular. I heard it was even on TheFaceBook .

Just a thought. I might be overthinking it.

New thought process... I think maybe if I just send the whole list to everyone who wants in, then everybody can look at the list, and contact the person of their choice directly/privately, and work out their own deal.

If that's all that's needed, yes, Google Drive can be used to make an open shared document that does not require a Google account to access. I do photography for some hockey tournaments, and post tournament photos on Google Drive and send an open link to team members, who share it with family and friends.

You can also control permissions, so the document could be read and not edited. I'd suggest using screen names only, breeds, dates of projected availability, and approximate number available if that can be quantified. Maybe SC only wants to share half a dozen, not enough to fill my 200+ egg incubator.

I still don't see the huge deal about why it has to be so secretive. We all know who has been here and who hasn't. We know, for the most part, who has what. If a bunch of new people show up and start trying to mooch, you guys will get plenty of laughs when I start

I thought part of the fun of it was going to be watching the deals being made. I never said those 2 dozen would be all I'm doing

This is just for us in our little group as a "spring" project. Has nothing to do with the whole of BYC.

She means public to only the ones involved in the Shipathon...
Thank you.....maybe I should have said "made available to those participating" instead of "made public".

Queenie filter. It's included in the update to the app

Sounds good. I would be nice to know who has what since I can't ever remember! (Batches of 6 would be great for me)
