She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Well I might have to give that a try. So far the other cockerels I sold were all hand raised and super sweet. But Gump is our first full size rooster that we have hand raised. Maybe I should grow out a couple of more just to be safe. Lol!!! And try your method.
I say keep doing what your doing by showing him you are the boss. Back him in a corner and if he jumps at you smack in the face with the side blade of a machete.....:lau :lau :lau

Well it was your machete wielding that made me ask the question! :gig

He's peeping inside the egg!!!! :weee
I can't believe he managed to internally pip! Thank goodness!!! This means if I had too, I could probably save him, now that he's internally pipped! I had to add water, so I peeked in and I was looking at a shadow that was moving a lot and I tapped on the egg and it started peeping like crazy!!! So I'll just let him be now and hope for an external pip by tonight! I've never heard an egg peep before! :fl

Yeah Ruby! :fl

And here I am, awake with the birds, too. So much to do today! Here are my thoughts on the matter before I leave:

And we're off and running today! See you later this afternoon!

Im really hoping this means its going to b a popcorn hatch... All at once would be very forgiving on my nerves! I had glanced in them while adding water las night, most of them were drawn down vs 11 the night before, forgot the count :he ! So they were alive but as of now i stand at 36 hours internally pipped...

So I have an egg half way through day 20 and I can not figure out what position he is in but it's not normal. Has anyone seen anything like this? I don't think he will pip. There are two spaces under the air cell. I took two photos and a short video to see his movement. Any idea what position this guy is in?

I know exactly how you feel!!! I'm already worrying about this one egg and thinking "is he running out of oxygen in there"...it's so nerve-wracking!!! But patience is key at hatch time. As Sally Sunshine said in the assisting hatching...that egg has served the chick/duckling well for 3-4 weeks, don't try to rip them out of a place that has kept them going this long.

They still aren't very fluffy, I don't know how to get the crusty stuff off and I didn't know if it's ok to get them wet so I'm letting it wear off.

Very cute! They will rub it off. You can rub it a little too. It doesn't look bad enough to me to wash them, but you can rinse them a little in Blue Dawn, or even just warm water will help. Just be sure to dry them really well if you do, and get em back in the warmth.
