Well, there's no need to since I have step down roosts and they usually go from top to middle to bottom before jumping off, from what I've seen. (3 level roosts). Are they jumping any great distance from a roost that might jar the unlaid egg?
lol... I sold 20 last weekend that had much bigger mouths and crops...There goes the feed bill!
Thank ya!That's awesome! congrats! Beautiful!

Any possibility of separating the 'suspect' hen in order to make sure you're getting only her eggs from her nest? That way, you could continue to candle them & see if the problem goes away.Well, there's no need to since I have step down roosts and they usually go from top to middle to bottom before jumping off, from what I've seen. Since I have had the broody sagas I've been candling the extra eggs that I remove from the nest and I have noticed something. I have two pullets in the second coop that lay white eggs. I know my Spitz is one white egg layer but I'm not sure what other one is laying white eggs, but anyhow, I have candled 3 different white eggs over the course of the last couple weeks that have detatched air cells. Ruptured detached air cells. When you move the egg you can see the air cell move and little bubbles around it move as well. I have never seen this in any of my other eggs. I'm assuming they have all come from the same pullet and it's bird specific, but I was quite surprised.
I need everything you hatched lol, I'm going tomorrow to pick up 8 Ayam Cemani chicks. 1 month old.somehow I talked myself into them.
The only time I have seen that effect is in those rotten local eggs I set. They were full of loose small bubbles of rottenness and exploded on impact in the garden.
It's easy to check cause I only get the 2 whites a day....lol One at the moment....lolAny possibility of separating the 'suspect' hen in order to make sure you're getting only her eggs from her nest? That way, you could continue to candle them & see if the problem goes away.
