Yep... someone else's hen went broody, so I said I'd give a shot to see if fertility has gone back up at all...

Pretty!!!!! That LO is amazing!!!! I think my ogye might be a hen but not sure yet.....and now I am unsure of the other one too!!! The one I seriously thought was a roo. Lol!!!

And thanks, both my boys are pretty, but this one seems to look a little better. But he has been chasing the other one, and he's the one that has been molesting the silkies. The other cockerel is a little more timid, but this one is friendlier. They are all getting better though, even the girls. Strange group they are lol

Mine aren’t predictable, lol... have way too many for that... they sound off whenever they feel like it and many times it turns into a competition... still would rather hear all that than a single dog that won't shut up...

Out of 30 eggs I set 29, I'm down to 13 now (1 of which looked like it was also quitting) and I haven't even made it to lockdown yet.

ETA: And the woman I got them from won't answer my emails. I've emailed her like 6 times to let her know how things are going and I've asked her several times now if she does end up replacing them could she ship them and she won't answer me.

I'd be very embarrassed of those eggs if I were her...and honestly isn't it safer for her to hide from you? She's probably worried she's going to get attacked and maybe just maybe she's done this to more people than just you and it hasn't gone well for her.

I had a bum hatch with dirty eggs first week of September. I feel ya. I never tried to get with her about it because I'd prefer to find a cleaner source for eggs in the future...I cut my losses due to wanting to avoid confrontation.

I've got my fingers crossed for you. Its painful to hope in cases like this. We dread opening the bator because more are bound to be dead...

I promise it will get better. We can call this your Halloween Hatch from Hell... It might be too soon to laugh for you yet but I had to try.
