She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I may well be missing something in this nightmare, but I'm getting the impression that this woman you got the eggs from is at least trying to make it right. Sounds like she still has a lot to learn, but that could be said about most of us, I reckon. I still don't know that I'd get any more eggs from her, though.
I think the only reason she's trying to fix it now is cause I've emailed her about 8 times in the last 2 and a half weeks and didnt have any intent of stopping anytime soon, atleast not til she answered me, lol. Yes she does have alot to learn, as do I, but if someone emails you and asks you several questions you should email them back, not wait til the person starts to gets upset and then get smart with them. She acted like she was tired of hearing from me :idunno It's funny though that she answered me immediately after I emailed her the very first time about buying the eggs but now that I need replacements it's taken her over 2 weeks to answer me, go figure.

I did not wash mine. I didn't see any bloom on them when they arrived which was my first clue that she probably washed em...
Many were completely clear at day 8 and the rest were in bad shape. A majority got a red ring from bacteria and died. Of the final 5, 2 died in shell fully formed and 3 hatched. 1 had leg problems that never went away so he was culled and now I have two left. 2 from that whole mess. The two heathy ones that hatched had clean shells with the bloom still on. Not sure why anyone would send a majority of nasty eggs.

This new batch I've got from TJ Chickens was all immaculate except for 5 of the 32 and its all minor smudges. Very very happy with these eggs. They were shipped. 22 are growing after an over 3000 mile trip in a box. Its a testament to her packing job to be sure.

I'm very anxious to see the chicks from TJ. :)

I came home to 2 boxes from Amazon

I've calibrated the thermometer in the Octagon, and the hygrometer is undergoing the salt test as we speak (I'll check it after the girls go to bed) (the human girls

) Then I'll clean everything with some fresh hydrogen peroxide, and after letting everything dry overnight, I'll plug in the incubator and let it stabilize (and see where my humidity is dry--assuming the hygrometer's correct, the house is at about 50% (I didn't really pay attention, since I hadn't tested it yet).

She ate the scratch out of my hand and put her paw in my hand too, but I didn't have my phone on me. I think her big daddy visits too but he is really shy.

I've got so many of them running around, but never tried to feed one. My dogs chase them out of the yard though. Have a family of them living in the flower bed at the base of my flag pole lol

We have a fence to prevent our dogs going into this section, otherwise they would chase them too. I like to keep them in one section to make it easier on me for poop patrol. They only go the other side when chickens are in their pens and when we are supervising them otherwise they would be running the neighborhood. Unlike some around here we try to be responsible dog owners. Those beagles ran into my back garden while I had the girls out. So I had my little chat with the neighbor, who was very apologetic, and said he would try and keep the beagles quiet. I pulled the heart surgery card and told him that the noise was very stressful which it is. I will give them a week to quiet the dogs down before I call the law. I have 2 german shepherds and you wouldn't know they were here unless you drive a ups truck or deliver mail. Ha.

Awe, how cute.

Good luck. I don't take people like that seriously when they apologize because you can't tell me that you are idiotic enough to not think that someone was being bothered by yapping dogs. Our dog hardly ever barks.

Wow, that mean UPS guy and mail man really get around... My dogs hate them too! Lol
My dogs have a fenced area of our yard too, and electronic collars to keep them in. But the chickens actually invaded the "dogs' yard". We just moved the electronic fence around the chicken coops. But when they free -range in the yard, the dogs are there with them. One dog gets a little excited around the smaller chicks, but he has learned that they can and will fight back!

Beagles (especially someone else's) could be trouble, so I don't blame you for talking to the neighbor. My neighbor has dogs trained on quail, so we would really have a problem if they got loose.

Be nice to that neighbor with the bird dog; be nice to have a dog handy to point one of your AWOL chickens
