She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

That actually sounds like a good idea, lol. I wish I could do that to the geese and ducks flying overhead that live in my neighborhood. I'm probably worrying too much but what if they were sick with something. All you can do is hope.

...or keep your chickens in the garage permanently, and that would stink in all senses of the word.

Hi, everybody.

Feels like a long time since I was on BYC trying to figure out what to do with my rooster, Sue. We just picked up a new rooster last weekend and are almost done with his new pen- his house is already made and he's chilling in it in the garage until it's complete. After he's come out of quarantine things may really start to get interesting.

I also am slowly accumulating components for making an incubator. Sue's been actively mating with the girls and I'm trying to tally what eggs are fertile/infertile when we make our breakfast.

Anytime I use eggs, I always check for fertility...lol I can't crack an egg w/o checking. So far I have only found one that didn't look fertilized and that was just recently since it's become cold.

:thumbsup   ain't it the truth!

:lau

and what's wrong with that?  That's a good thing, right?

:frow   Hi'ya.  Welcome back... you and your rooster named Sue!   Tell us about your incubator.....

Of course its a good thing! Just yest tho u askd what i was gna do with them all... Well i made Another contact this AM. And i told my cop friend i was likely selling them? Now hes jelouse an wants to buy some too :lau i didnt Want to be hatchin all winter! BUT Now i need the chickens to start layin more so i can have Another set, to grow out :D

Congrats!! I'm really looking forward to seeing them grow. I had never heard of icelandics before.
I like it!!
He does mow my lawn but only about once a month and not anymore since fall has started.
Right!! I look at the poop that is over at his place and it is not normal at all!!!
Yes, mine drew blood once too!! He may have to go if he doesn't get over this teenage hormonal phase!
What is a hen flogging?
A hen flogging is what a hen would do to a cockrel who doesn't mind his p's and q's. Don't let that bad boy within arms length of you, EVER! Give him a run for his money, every time he crosses that arm's length boundary. Hormones are no excuse for bad behavior.

Welcome. Do tell, what are you collecting? Looked at the STC 1000? Fan? How big will that bator be? No wonder Sue is not living up to your expectations, with a name like that. I had a male cat named Sally. Got beat up by every tom in the neighborhood. He made up for his lack of a manly name by being an exceptional hunter, and an extremely loving and affectionate cat.

You've been gone too long to give a full wrap up, so the short story is there was a divorce, but I still get supervised visitation

And the friends didn't have to choose sides!

I can't crack an egg without checking, even though I have no intention of incubating till spring. Gotta see if Jack is doing his job. He's got 20 girls to satisfy now. And it'll soon be 24. I've no doubt he's up to the challenge.

Children should never have to choose.

So basically, it all boils down to we are all egg flippin' nuts? lol Glad to hear it's universal...lol

Yep, I flip my eggs, after checking them bulls eyes, then smash the yolk, so it's not so runny when i eat it. A dollop of salsa. Morning not complete without one. Yeah... some would think we were one sandwich short of a picnic. But, we're happy in our little worlds.
